2018 The Burbs Raffle Quilt

This red and  white quilt is our newest raffle quilt for Garden State Quilt Guild.  It was designed and pieced together by Pam Bakas. The story goes that she had just gotten the red and white quilt book from the  "Infinite Variety: Three Centuries of Red and White Quilts” in  New York quilt show. This  became her inspiration. She then looked for design that was in the public domain. The schoolhouse pattern  was chosen.   All the blocks in this red and white raffle quilt are foundation pieced by approximately 22 women from the  guild who volunteered to paper-piece this traditional schoolhouse block. The neighborhood of blocks is surrounded by a floating Seminole border. The quilt fabrics were  donated of one of the members. The quilt was quilted by Janice Jamison another guild member and a professional long arm quilter. The quilt size is   72“ X 84  “.
