This year we have two BOMs. The first one is for those who want to create their own. Read below for parameters.

The second are original modern quilting style paper-pieced blocks designed by Yolanda Fundora and are destined for publication in a book. She may ask permission to photograph your efforts to include as samples of your take on them.

Below is the working cover.

Rotary Pieced Version

Anyone can create a theme – let your creative juices run rampant! Here is an idea:  Create blocks using various size strips or use light strips on one side and dark on the other, or each month choose a different direction. First, determine desired size of finished block – 12 ½”, 8 ½” etc.

Then:

October

Horizontal strips – ½ of the block is light strips; the other ½ dark strips.

November

Diagonal strips, colors separated at the corners.

December

Vertical strips: ½ of the block light strips; the other dark.

January

Diagonal strips, colors separated in thirds – the outer 1/3 of the triangle is light; the middle is dark.

February

Diagonal strips, colors separated in thirds – the outer 1/3 triangle is dark and the middle is light.
